Crapello keeps his job [Merged]

Re: Crapello keeps his job

What is it with our FA? A clause in a brand new contract just weeks before the tournament begins, no backbone, almost a billion on a stadium which can't grow grass, corruption from top to bottom..... Lahm is right, we are a weak footballing nation and in my view a complete laughing stock.

If that's true it will be a first for the FA.

Re: Crapello keeps his job

If he had any self respect he would resign. He says he is more desperate than ever to do well, I think he is just desperate to keep his £6m a year salary. Was shit from start to finish in the World Cup.

It will be interesting to see if he keeps playing Fat Frank in the team.

While the current crop of morons at the FA run things, we will always have a shit national team.

Re: Crapello keeps his job

It seems to be pretty much accepted that he has lost the respect of the squad so don't know how he will turn it round unless he makes wholesale changes. If he does stop picking some of the big names then as soon as he loses a game he will be massacred by the press and will be forced out. I don't see him staying in the long term at all. Probably end up like Hoddle after 98. He'll fuck up in the first few games and be out part way through qualifying.

Re: Crapello keeps his job

3 WC the "golden generation" have fuck up royally with 3 different managers.

I hope the FA back Fabio to Cull the gold card squad members and replace them with young, hungry talented players who will give everything for their country.

Re: Crapello keeps his job

I read somewhere that the FA are shocked at how few boxes people have renewed on at Wembley to the point that they can't afford to let him go.

Capello stays!

Crazy

The Football Association have announced that Fabio Capello will continue as England coach.

The four-man Club England board met on Friday to discuss Capello's position following their dismal World Cup campaign which saw them go out in the second round with a 4-1 defeat to Germany.

Capello only signed a new deal prior to the finals in South Africa, but such was the nature of England's performance, the FA decided to review his position.

The Club England board - made up of Sir Dave Richards, Alex Horne, Sir Trevor Brooking and Adrian Bevington - decided that Capello should remain, and that decision was ratified by the Football Association board.

Capello was immediately made known of the decision and he declared his delight at keeping his £6million-a-year-post and said: "I am more determined than ever to succeed with the England team.

"Sir Dave Richards has called me to tell me everyone at The FA wants me to continue. I explained it is very important we use the disappointment as a motivation in the future.

"I can assure the fans I am now fully focused on our European qualifying fixtures, starting with the friendly against Hungary in August.

"We will look to introduce new players to give the team new energy and I will use all my experience to take England forward.

"I am extremely proud to be the England Manager, it means so much to me and I am determined to succeed."

Club England Chairman Sir Dave Richards added: "We are all still extremely disappointed at our performance in South Africa, and we believed it was important that we took some time to reflect on everything in a calm and considered manner back in England.

"After fully discussing our performance we remain convinced that Fabio is the best man for the job.

"He went into the World Cup with a reputation as one of World football's finest managers and we are confident Fabio will benefit from his first international tournament experience and this will undoubtedly make us all stronger for the Euro 2012 campaign."

FA Board Acting Chairman Roger Burden commented: "The FA Board supports this decision. It is the right decision and will allow us now to rebuild for the future with Fabio leading us forward."

Re: Cappello to continue as England manager

Yet again the FA bottle it and leave the international management of Mark Hughes at the helm. Can't wait for another 4 years time until we get another humiliating
