Expected big defeat. 4-1 is better than 5-0, but we’re miles behind India and a fair way behind the Aussies.

Not sure it’s going to get any better any time soon.

Much the same as in 2020-2021. Root scored 218 in Chennai and gave England the platform to win.

Bazball is just hype, a meaningless word to paper over fundamental failings. England embarrassingly recalled Moeen Ali in the summer to save their spin blushes and, having learned nothing from their last tour of India, arrived with untested youngsters and batsmen who simply don't have consistent staying power. I'm off to invest in some tulip bulbs; they're due a resurgence I hear..

The bowlers and especially the new spinners have been good it's the batters who have been around for ages and given loads of games and if you continually fail it's fine you keep your place

Which is part of the problem. We don’t have many young batsmen ready to play test cricket.

Agree, it's hard to find cricketer who want to play test match Crawley and Ducket is the best we can do! Am so disappointed with Crawley this series he has done so well with the opening partnerships with Ducket but never gone on and got a ton then go on and have a match winning innings! Maybe next few years he will go on and get those big scores!

Yep brooks for Bairstow and that's the batting line up..

James Rew looks a prospect down at Somerset, but he’s another keeper!

Crawley and Pope both have the shots, but their mentality isn’t consistently strong enough.
