The fucking batting in the t20 today was pathetic. A bit like Overton’s bowling. Rashid the fourth top scorer with 7 not out

Seems like his career is over if he can’t get in the squads for subcontinental tours. Unless he’s injured.

What an over from the 2 B’s

And hell of again from the bowlers. Bethell and Jacks particularly good. Dawson and Rashid too

Under 19's World Cup Final - England v India.

England getting an absolute thrashing at the half way stage of the first innings with India batting and have reached 250 for 2 at 10 runs per over.

That 14 year old is an absolute freak, already got a century in the IPL so he's a different level to the rest of these lads. There was a dispute over his age a while ago, but think it got cleared up.

Just got him out for 175 off 80 balls but 25 overs into the first innings and it's safe to say he's already won them the game!

I think it's very unlikely he's 14. He referred to himself as 14 in an interview 2 years ago.

It's just stopped being an issue because he's playing mens cricket and still playing incredibly or u19 in this case where he's still definitely below the age limit.

They did bone density checks I read and were comfortable, but like you say he's now playing at a level where it's not an issue anyway. Just saw that interview, and you'd like to think he knew how old he was but registration of births is possibly more complicated where he comes from so it might not be certain. He's obviously grown up believing he was about to turn 14 yet has stayed that age for a couple more years!

The truth will come out if he gets a test call-up. Sachin was about 16 when he made his debut, they will want to ensure it's legitimately beaten.

His dad said they did one when he was 8, I'm not sure I'd take him at face value and they didn't have any documentation, and the BCCI didn't back him up which was suspicious. Also it's not unheard of for the very best 16 year olds to compete in professional sport (Lamine Yamal/Rooney, dozens of tennis players, Littler, Tendulkar, Verstappen) but 14 really is unprecedented of so I sort of defer back to balance of probabilities.

As far as I'm concerned as soon as he's playing professional cricket it stops mattering, and he's definitely u19. Age fraud has been happening for decades in the subcontinent, it's more of a domestic issue (getting school scholarships, call ups to age grade stuff) than a problem for international cricket.
