It was enthralling, I agree. Unfortunately, people now want slogfests consisting of sixes from the batsmen and bowlers bowling as wide as legally possible, with dot balls the holy grail. They don't want patient batsmen with good techniques and bowlers trying to take wickets.

I was brought up to believe bowlers were supposed to attack.

Two-innings cricket is for those who love the game, and T20 is for those who don't.

God knows what this new 100-ball game is going to be like. Talk about selling your soul for a quick buck.

Thank heaven for some upcoming Tests to relieve weeks of dross.
