They are good bowlers, I wouldn’t say excellent.

Roach is a bit past it and rightly ranked 14th in the world and Trent Boult is really medium-fast, 85mph not blistering pace.

It’s not comparable to facing Starc, Cummins and Hazlewood, nor Shami and Bumrah.
Boult averages the same as Starc (27) and he’s closing in on 300 wickets. Roach also has over 200 test wickets at 27 apiece. I disagree that he’s past it as it’s quite apparent that he’s improved a lot since losing a yard of pace. His returns show this.

Got to give him a fair crack at it. He's had 10 tests, all against India and Australia, the majority away from home over 5 years. Inbetween his game has fell off a cliff and has had to rebuild his career at a new county ... and he only turns 25 on Saturday!
I think not awarding him a central contract puts more pressure on him.

Going to pay for that dropped catch.
Labuschagne is one lucky fella, they showed a stat that out of the last 29 catching chances he has given he got caught only 50% of the time. Like the commentators said, the slip fielders are a bit too narrow. They’re low in confidence and have bunched up to stop those chances that slip through gaps and theoretically make for easier chances BUT having just taken a good catch Crawley had the confidence to dive across Root and messed it up. Root’s late movement may also have contributed. It happens though and you just have to accept it.

I’ve edited my post, suicidal shot selection.
