I really don’t think he cuts it and with Ali and 5 seamers also in the side his bowling is not needed.

With Morgan retiring I think Malan has to be in.
Yeah, he’s not got the technique to bat for very long. He could be a finisher of an innings and he improves his bowling.

Bumrah is some bowler though.

He is, but when this England side say they were definitely going to bowl first as well, and you see deliveries like the one that got Root, I think the pitch is helping them a lot.

It generally only swings for 10 overs or so.

It might be that the pitch is doing loads and we bowl them out for 50, but I doubt it.

We need at least 2-3 players to defend when we need to defend.

Whilst every ball must go is an exciting philosophy, it was never going to work long term.

87 all out is englands lowest ever ODI score.

Would there be anything more English than breaking the world record for highest score and then 2 games later break your own worst record

Are they still using 2 balls? If so, 20 overs is a fair amount of an innings.

I once went to the Oval to watch Surrey play Leicester in a 50 over match. Leicester made 49, so England have beaten that score.

Surrey knocked the runs off in 2.3 overs.

This is the way we play mantra has to stop.Sometimes you have to play the conditions and situation.
I’m not sure that’s strictly fair. We’ve had a lot of success with this mindset in the limited over forms of the game. It’s a strong Indian attack and the ball was doing quite a bit.
