You could argue this was better as it’s away from home against a very strong Indian side.

What Stokes and to an extent Leach achieved, was absolutely monumental. I agree with Ric though, as a complete performance, with most of the team contributing, I can't remember many better performances.

I said during the Sri Lankan tour that England would do more than compete in India, we just needed the spinners to contribute. The quality and variety of Englands pace attack is frightening.

As a performance I agree, class from start to finish bar Leach getting a roasting in the first dig, but as spectacle and and on the back of that world cup win it was proper memorable oh and we won 3-1 away that day as well :)

Curran for Lawrence too maybe? Gives us an extra bowling weapon and wouldn‘t lessen the batting too much.

india will make a wicket to suit their spinners in the next test. its on the same ground so maybe just change anderson or archer for broad and give lawrence a chance

Superb from England and what an over that was by Jimmy. That's not just a defeat for India on their own patch, it's a hammering. Happens so rarely.

They will come back strongly I'm sure but really important to get ahead in the series. Should be a great one!
