15-20 runs short - too many shots found fielders in the last 5 overs of Englands knock.
Still NZ batted well from being in a sticky position 10 overs in so good luck to them...

its why i don't care for 20/20 cricket ? no skill just power hitting and luck. the worst team can beat the best team on any given day the form book does not apply

NOW ITS TIME

the ashes are coming and bedtime listening on them cold winter nights
No skill LOL. Have you ever played it? I was a average/goodish 4 day player but put me in a 20/20 game and I was utterly useless with the bat. When you are in the middle of it you can only just look in awe. Yes you are right it is more about power, but the skill levels e.g. ramping 90mph balls for 6, are amazing.
p.s. I would bet on any excitement staying up during the ashes. We're going to get murdered. Used to love lying in bed with the radio under the pillow when I was a lad :)

many proper test or county cricket players are not suited to 20/20 because of the need to be 100% on the day.
no 2nd chances in 20/20 like in the longer form of cricket. only the big hitters win the games for me and all teams fill there squads with big hitters

also 20/20 crickets is all about the toss and batting 2nd why ? nail on the head big hitters

Agree with much of the sentiment on here. If we're going to get beaten, I'm glad it was them. Great team - no stars.

I don't know a great deal about cricket but what I do know is that Bairstow isn't in great form and we stick him in up top to waste deliveries. It seemed an insane idea to me with my limited knowledge

England were put under pressure twice in this tournament and failed on both occasions

Spot on. Great bunch of guys. They usually are from New Zealand. No way would any other team in the comp have turned that single down, including us. The way they took all the controversy in the 50 over final on the chin was outstanding
The Kiwis display sportsmanship at its very best, and their acceptance of defeat back in the 2019 World Cup means I don't begrudge them a deserved victory today. As long as they beat the Aussies (if they make the final).

I’m not going to reference Ancoats here but it would be interesting how many of us have played at a decent level.

Did losing Roy & Mills to injury really put the mockers on England's chances? FWIW I'd have opened with Livingstone today. Anyway well played NZ they are a damned hard team to beat in any format and they have a very disciplined bowling attack. Hope they win it.
