Good dig by Bairstow,Stokes and Wood.
Stokes very lucky though.
BBC were celebrating mediocrity this morning. The truth is unless Bairstow and the tail wag for a couple of hours and reduce that deficit or the weather intervenes this has heavy defeat all over it.

So; how long will we need to bat for tomorrow to give us a fighting chance to avoid defeat (and be realistic, don't say "all day"). Halfway through the second session?

Next two days there supposed to be a lot of rain so if they can hang around get another 50 means Aussies will have to bat longer taking time out of the game draw favourite for me because if the rain.

I think we need to factor in runs also.
The more we score the longer the Aussies need to bat.
No good just hanging about using up time and not scoring.
As @waspish says though the weather could be the salvation.

its to little to late and and the rain effected wicket
yes a good knocks by bairstow and wood but i feel the aussies have given up on the whitewash because of the rain.
but if they take quick wicket in the morning and the rain stays away england could hand them a chance

i can smell a decollation by the aussies and a temped score for england to bite
they will come out in the 2nd innings and smash it around and try and score quick runs and get a lead of 250
and england will fancy it but you know what's coming

Burns be back next test also woakes for stokes! Because of the bubble there ain’t much choice maybe Laurence will get a game.

I don't see why they'd bring back Burns.

The problem with him is he doesn't score and he's out within 2 overs most of the time.

Hameed can't score but at least he's hanging around for long enough for the new ball to wear off more often than not. Malan and Root fucked up today, but the middle order is where England have batsmen, and if the openers can just see off 15-20 overs then the middle order has a chance.
