I think Roy Burns experience of captaincy beats Root. In my view he has done precious little to dispell the thought that ECB just chose the best player, guaranteed a place in the side.
Fair enough. Don’t know much about Burns outside of his poor technique.

Just the usual safe remark and towing the usual interview trained line!

Listen on the radio they said after the ashes the ecb backed Root to carry on the captaincy so looks like he will be captain rest of the summer.
Maybe, but does he really think they played some "brilliant cricket" and just an extra push will bring winning results?

Root has put the ECB in a bad position if they relieve him of the captaincy then Stokes probably won’t take it as they are mates. Should have offered up his resignation.

It’s not going to get any better soon. New Zealand, India and South Africa next and we can’t even claim home conditions as an advantage as none of them can play against a moving ball.

Not convinced there is a natural successor and deep down all parties probably know that, including the public, the media, the ECB, even Root himself. Better just to accept that situation and keep building the new team this summer.

Looks more like an authentic Caribbean cricket experience than Antigua or Barbados. Very partisan home support, which is great. Fewer English flags telling us they support Port Vale or Derby County too.
Why do they do that for a different sport? You wouldn't go and watch a game of rugby league with a couple of mates with a Fleetwood Town on tour flag? Not only that but at any international game you have a bunch of drunken oafs chanting stupid songs all day.
My theory is the team's form is a reflection of the fans
