Compton is a latecomer to cricket. He’s 28 and only played 15 first class games in his life.I've only seen him against Lancs but Compton looked a very good player, 4 centuries this season compared to Crawley's 0. They both play for the same team, face the same bowlers on the same wickets, Compton looks far superior technically. Crawley just isn't an opening bat, doesn't have the technique to open the batting, he's a middle order batsman for me.. Haines at Sussex looks to have a bright future, only 23, captain's the team, and looks a good player. Just a couple who haven't been picked before..
He‘s definitely worth watching, but it seems incredibly early to suggest he’s a test batsman.
