He reminds me a bit of Darren Gough. Not the tallest, but has a smooth action which is easy to repeat. Hopefully that keeps him as injury free as possible.

Gough and injury free in the same sentence?!

I see those comparisons, he's great to watch. I don't think enough has been made of picking him. He was an in-form bowler in the County game and has taken that form into test cricket. It's a bit like the Aussies turning to Boland at the MCG because it was his home ground. He was playing in the BBL at the time and then just destroyed England through a combination of form and being an unknown entity in test cricket.

I suspect Potts will look after his body a bit better than Gough did!

Boland was a superb pick. He was so consistent. It’s a bit of a surprise that he hadn’t played sooner.

Archer was flogged in all formats whereas Potts will be kept for tests only so should be fine. He's so impressive because even when not taking wickets he's always bowling a consistent line and length and creating chances. He's actually been quite unlucky to not take more wickets and yet has taken a fair few already!

When Archer came through his express pace was just what England needed in test cricket...and in ODI...and in T20s...and he was used in all and fucked as a result.

Potts has apparently only played about 30 long-form matches in 5 years since his debut. He'll be being treated and trained properly.

Archer had basically no background in longform cricket, and wasn't eased into it. The effect of overplaying him was obvious.

India playing like England smashing us let’s hope we can carrying on a batting performances when it our term! India batting is better than New Zealand and there bowlers may just be..
