Root. Every side needs players like Root or Malan to score quickly without having to rely on big shots, while the people at the other end are going big. Not sure that would be the selection dilemma though
We shall see. Livingstone seems to have mesmerised people because he can hit a long ball.

Squad for tonight has no England players, provisional at the moment, awaiting confirmation from the ECB as to whether any can play in a match that is a few hours away.

If you could pick him or Root for your T20 World Cup side, who would you pick?
Completely different roles in the team? If Root was to get in the T20 team it would be at the expense of Malan imo as the role of anchor keeping the innings together, Livingstone and Moeen are in that team to come in and go at 300+ strike rate, sometimes they'll look a world beater, sometimes they'll look daft but more often than that they'll hit a quick 25.

Livingstone had a great world cup last winter and a was in the IPL TOTY, with Morgan stepping down and Stokes probably stepping away he seems the natural fit to come in there - the pressure will be on but he's shown enough over the past 12 months that he can do it I think.

Fair enough. Time will tell. He’s too one dimensional for me. Any ball movement and his technique fails him.

May as well not qualify getting 1/5 and then missing 4 for finals day. Shocking Gleeson was not in the XI either but can't play as they want him for net practice.
I dont mind losing, however its 20 overs if our England players cant play 2 t20 games in two days sad state of affairs, not that they all would be playing fo England any way.You would think the Ecb would want the best players at Finals day.
Not looking forward to watching Lamb contribute nothing tonight.

It’s absolutely scandalous the way they treat the fans and players of the T20, especially as the T20 World Cup is in October.
They did it to livingstone 2 years ago, picked him in the squad but he played for neither England or Lancashire and sets them back a month while everyone else is match hardened.
