I get your drift about the Aussie accent, generally. It's not particularly easy on the ear. Some of those old interviews with Bradman are real "nails down the blackboard" stuff. But Ponting isn't the worst I've heard.Atherton and Hussain are the best.
Ponting, and any other convict, should be barred from commentating on the basis of that fucking awful accent. Richie Benaud is the only Australian in history to neither talk shite nor do so without offending aural sensibilities.

Glenn McGrath was saying he's the only batsman we have who seems to put a high value on his wicket, and you're gonna have to work if you want to get him out. Hard to argue with that, and also pretty shocking given he's a tailender.
