Every test team produces wickets that suit them better than the opposition when they're on home ground. England are no exception.

Why would you do any different. New Zealand don't produce turning pitches for Southee and Boult to bowl on. Being going on for donkeys years. It only spins in English county conditions late summer hence why we lack great spinners and batsmen who struggle to play the turning ball. Stokes is a very good player of spin but got a fantastic ball to get him out

i think you have to produce a balance wicket under ICC rules and you can get big fines or test cricket taken away for that ground

If one team is pretty much 400 for 11 and the other team is 136 for 10 and the pitch isn’t considered dangerous then it’s tough shit. Bowl better and bat better, there’s a reason why away wins against the top teams are so highly valued. Win the toss in the day night test and England will have half a chance at drawing the series. That would be an incredible result.

They spoke about abandoning the toss a few years back but decided to leave it for now.

I like the idea of removing the coin toss to a degree but it's not very good if the touring team is a much stronger team than the hosts and you get another walk over but for the visiting team rather than the hosts.

I think there should be another rule added where if the touring team is 3 or more places above the home team in the world rankings then it should go back to a coin toss.

Maybe the lower ranked of the two teams gets the choice?

india ordered the groundsman to produce the wickets. so the ICC will be made to notice how bad it was by england ECB. that wicket was of a poor standard and everybody knew it. the groundsman made it into a dust bowl wicket

but in india its so big to win the toss because of the poor wickets that's the problem not the coin toss

India scored 329 and are 54/1. That doesn’t happen on disgraceful pitches. As long as it’s not dangerous crack on. We’re only a few weeks on from India getting bowled out for 36 in Australia. There are certain advantages to being a home team, spinning wickets in the sub continent being one of them.

your right we should bat so much better ? but the trouble england have is with spin and when the toss was won by india and england seen dust coming up and looking like a bomb being dropped in the first morning it sent england into panic mode

even the BBC reporter jonathan agnew said the same thing in the first morning session wow its like this on the first morning god help england

yes its sub continent cricket. yes excuses for poor batting by england. but why so much change in the wicket in the 5 days since the first test at the same ground that's what england will be saying

from here on in india will keep producing wickets in the next 2 test to suit their spin. england will have little chance of winning again over there even root could struggle hahaah. this summer we face india in our back garden and will produce great wickets ? india will love coming here and batting and scoring big runs ? so why not make the wicket bounce and quick for our quickies and give them so chin music

I think the next test is under lights so hopefully it might do a bit. We will beat India convincingly they always struggle here when its nibbling about.
