I agree although T20 is played around the World though. The lack of talent is the concern.Until the ECB decide that the championship is important this will go on.Players honing technique in T20.

I agree on an overriding approach to the game - if we end up getting beat we will atleast go out playing the way we believe the game should be played etc.I know it’s not the only factor (NZ are #1 for a reason), but this result was in part spawned when we neglected to chase a tough but getable target. That ‘defeatist/we’re not good enough to get’ attitude tends to stick.
Not professing(sp?) to have the answers and I can understand why they don't want to have huge back-to-back overseas tours, but regardless of how well the team are performing, how can it be good preparation to play at home with the ball swinging all over the place and then going to Australia to compete in completely different conditions? They have 5 tests vs India to get this shit right before they go to Australia or else it'll be another 5-0 whitewash
I don't see why they can't do both? This is the ECB trying to rest and rotate the IPL players, I'm sure if Buttler, Moeen, Bairstow etc. had the chance to play for England this past fortnight instead of playing in the Blast then they would have.Should be a stipulation that IPl players consequently make themselves unavailable for England.
If they chase the money to play an inferior slog version of cricket; so be it. Tells you about them and their motivation.
