Get roofs on stadiums and play all year round, leaving the summer months to test cricket and the home run derbies can be held over the winter.

Great idea Al :-) as long as the players don fancy dress in the Tudor Period stylee and you score a ten if you reach the pool of performing seals beyond the boundary.
 
The Hundred they’ve gone all in with this format! It’s taking up the prime month of the summer and nailed in to 2027! Like everything in this world it’s about money..

what is it Five test matches against the Aussies in around 5/6 weeks?

Andrew Strauss is going to go down as the man who ruined the 132-year-old County Championship, which I grew up with.
I used to know and recognise the names of players of all the counties, now I look at line-ups and can't place one of them - anyone you might have heard of is away somewhere in the Hundred, the |IPL, some T20 set-up, or on a central contract so members never see them for their counties?
Jos Buttler is officially a Lancs player, but he might as well be a yorkie for all the times he appears forthe Red Rose.
Support for one's local county is withering away, thanks to all the messing about (unless there's a mindless slogfest)

Yes i'd expect some compromise but 10 games in the championship is too few, maybe 12 would be enough, I don't like the 50 over comp being straight knock out either to be honest.

There will never be a perfect system, I have been a cricket lover for over 30 years and every year there are complaints about the schedule, the main issue in this country is too many counties.

Couldn’t have done it without Kent, at least not today. Surrey have a strong squad, 22 players used, and the breaks for the Tests arguably helped. It might not have been a Championship winning season had Foakes, Overton, and Pope been on Test duty when Championship fixtures were being played.
