They just won the Asia Cup against some of the favourites (India and Pakistan) for the World Cup though.

Not really, they're on their road to recovery after a long period of slumber and loss of world class players, they didn't only win the asia cup but also had a good test season with drawn series against Pak and Aus, ironically they loss the first match of Asia cup in similar manner after getting a thrashing from Afghanistan

I guess there are designated commentary boxes, but it does seem that he’s commentating from inside a cupboard.

The style of commentary has changed. Instead of shouting edged and gone, they ask if it was an edge, or will it go to the boundary etc.
