Good again, to keep them to 250 on a pitch that has offered nothing for the bowler is a fine effort these days.

That's a battering. England knocked off the runs with nearly a third of the available overs remaining. Sri Lanka are a long way from the days of Murali, Malinga "the slinger", Sangakkara and Jawardene. They looked very ordinary out there.

Its a self made, protector, in case a batsman leathers one back at him.
england have a good squad in both 50 overs and 20/20 and i dont understand why most of the sqaud is not in the test sqauds. ok its a white ball vs red but if you can play cricket and bat like we have tonight without having to push and made to look easy then test cricket must be easyer. i find in a puzzle why in test cricket you block block block block block block its daft. the bat's they use today are so big and powerful why just block for 90 overs if you can score 250 in 30 overs in the 50 over game then just a morning session in test is 30 overs
you could score 400 before tea if you play test cricket in the form of 1 day cricket ok you will lose wickets but how many times do you lose when you score 400 in test cricket maybe test cricket could be made a 90 overs innings each team over 4 days. you still get 2 innings each and 90 overs so they would be not much change over than block block block block block block for 2 days to save a test

England going down pretty meekly today. 131 still needed with only 4 second innings wickets left. Ali wants shooting for his brainfart. Bairstow needs to drop anchor here, and hopefully some support from Woakes. Broad can score a few runs, but I wouldn't be too confident of Finn and Ball lasting too long. Where's the rain that's been here all summer when you need it!

Couldn't understand what was the rush; they had plenty of time (over 5 sessions, not counting any bad weather that might show up) to get less than 300 runs. Take it nice and steady up until lunch tomorrow, keep the bulk of your wickets intact and then, if you need say 150-175 with, say 7 wickets left, then you'd be in the driving seat. As ever the batsmen will get another chance but I expect Finn, Ball and Ali to all be dropped for the next test for Stokes, Anderson and Rashid.
