I see Jofra Archer may have a few questions to answer. He played a club game for his old school (?) in the Caribbean. Nothing wrong with that, per se. Only that Rob Key and the ECB apparently had no idea about it. Given he's trying to get back to fitness, and is more than likely on a specific programme and timeframe to try to achieve that, it was a strange decision to go ahead and play in this game. And moreso, not to inform the authorities about. Key has said that they'll look into it, and find out what the story is.

I just saw that. Very odd, if no-one knew (this being a slight difference from Key not knowing).

The BBC report also suggests that he bowled some left-arm spin which seems even more odd.

I wouldn't have given Archer an England contract! Just because his injury record is shocking and I predict he will play next to nought games for England in the next 2 years!

For England investment in him the amount of money England have paid him he needs to play in the next ashes play at least four of those test matches and win us two of those test matches for that investment to of been worthwhile!

It does feel like doubling down on the amount they've spent on him already.

Was shocked they gave him a two year contract with his injury record it should have been 1 year to see how his injury goes!

yes - I assume that from a discussion they found that he wouldn't accept a 1-year contract and preferred to limit to 4-over matches, not that he played a whole load of those either.

My guess would be that they wanted to manage his work load and keep him away from the IPL etc, but seeing he’s playing in matches the ECB didn’t know about, then it doesn’t seem to be working.

They been trying to "manage" him since he became and England international! This now is them trying to get him fit for the ashes!

Personally he will retire from test match cricket and 50 over cricket and just say his body can't cope! But he has raked in the money since becoming an England player and gave us the sum total of fcuk all..
