He's not wrong though. It's a balance of weighing up the runs you score vs the wicket(s) you could get.

That equation changes a lot when the run rate goes from 3 to 8.

If they bat out the next 15 mins like this, they'll have got 70 extra runs, which is probably worth more than bowling under lights.
