Well all the talk from those who know best is that this is on those who prepared the pitch rather than the batsmen. Both Broad and McGrath have been scathing of the pitch, saying it was way too bowler-friendly. For 2 ex-bowlers to say that is telling. Neser said that the batters have basically had little choice but to go after the ball because even if you’re playing well defensively, you’re going to get done eventually on this pitch.

Unlike the 2 day Perth test where it was actually a decent batting track, the fallout from this could be huge with world record refunds being dished out.
