Cricket Thread

I think both teams have scored more than they should. Honestly think normally 300 would be a really good score on this wicket, coupled with the overhead conditions.

I'd say par would would be 270ish, if you bowl and field well.

I’ve just translated this into Alan Hansen-ese. “Percentages”.

The standard of cricket punditry compared to football is staggering.

But I do recognise that the opposite is true on this thread, largely down to my contribution.

I often say the equivalent of posting "we should have scored more goals and not conceded as many" in the post match thread.

Might come down to that on Sunday!

Nah, I totally get where you’re coming from.

There’s risk and reward and then there’s recklessness. The line is blurred sometimes!

You can't question the initial transformation with that attacking approach. But that platform is there now, the players generally know their positions are safe and as a result you just want to see them start to read the situation a little better at times. Fine margins in cricket and conditions throw that extra factor in, which you can't control unless you win the toss.

It's all a bit Spursy. Entertaining but with an Ashes looming in a year, time to get that trophy!

Drop Crawley, let Atkinson open and play another bowler.
