Same old Aussie cheating cunts . All kicking off in the Long room never seen scenes like it Aussie players squaring up to MCC members in there 70s and security intervening.
Best of never piss of a Ginger especially a super talented Ginger …….

C’mon Ben Stokes !!!

I think in these situations, the Third Umpire should make it visible on screen that the appealing team is being offered the opportunity to withdraw its appeal. Making that opportunity public might lead to more common sense. Idealistic, I know.

It is totally irrespective of what’s gone before.
Whatever the laws of the game might say that incident was despicable.
Carey has certainly marked his card there.
It is not something any self respecting keeper would ever try to do.

Stokes is obviously the key but Broad and Robinson are no mugs with the bat. Just don't do any daft. Get it down to 74 say and they will start twiching. They looked rattled walking though the long room and I'm sure they'll get a similar reception walking back out

I think all countries cheat, unfortunately. Atherton with dirt in his pocket and Burns deliberately scuffing the ball with his studs spring to mind. That kind of cheating is one thing. However, it's interesting that it's these examples of flouting 'the spirit of the game' that cause so much ire. On that point, it's quite comical seeing Broad losing his rag/bandana after he deliberately refused to walk in 2013. There will be more such chicanery in the coming Tests I suspect.
The fact you quote those examples shows they did cause much ire. What a strange point of view.

It's also likely to galvanize the Australians and make them fight back. Going to be a fascinating afternoon either way.

Who can ever forget when they bowled that underarm ball on the last ball of a game against NZ who wanted 4 to win. Horrible way to play cricket. They havnt changed. The scousers of the cricket world

Maybe I didn't make myself clear. I only used the first two examples to show that all countries 'cheat'. However, we tend to react more to the examples that we immediately see, those 'spirit of the law' calls such as the event today. That is why I think the Third Umpire should be given a role that is more than one of adjudication and be able to defuse things for the good of the game.
