Cricket Thread

Think it’s fair to say the honeymoon period is well and truly over. Teams will follow this Australian blueprint of sweepers protecting the boundaries early, short bowling etc.

Started when we let New Zealand series go with making them follow on few months back, that decision made no sense at the time and showed how arrogant this England team have become.

I can’t say I enjoy the short stuff like this, no matter the team. Cricket feels ridiculously outdated in its policy regarding substitutes, and it’s high time teams were permitted to have a like-for-like replacement when there are injuries.

They’re only doing short stuff because it’s working.

If England scraped 2 brain cells together and just left the ball for 4 overs then the bowlers would have given up, it’s too tiring to do for an extended spell.

Just playing cricket as though it doesn`t matter, no desire to work hard and play the game situation. Really disappointing seeing this approach in Ashes cricket.

Just had a mate describe Bazball as like playing Football Manager and adopting the Gung-ho tactic for 90 minutes in every game. Pretty accurate I'd say
Don’t disagree, but anyone watching this shit this morning wouldn’t really be able to tell that England are playing with any particular psychology or attitude.

The standards have just been appalling; poor shots, poor execution. Basic sloppiness and nobody seems to be that arsed about it either.
