I kept wicket for seven years and many a time I used to warn batsmen about wondering down the pitch. If, after a gentle warning went unheeded then in my eyes they were fair game. I would like to think Bairstow was warned by the Aussies but I don’t think he was given his total look of shock.

That would certainly be acceptable behaviour, as with the mankads described previously.

I agree that there wasn't a warning given.
I'm sure someone will see how many times batsmen clearly ground their bat or turn to the keeper for a nod, and how many they don't!

My honest take on the very little I've seen of France, as I don't watch the news, is that it will be rioting as a smokescreen for other social issues that people are pissed off about over there. However, yes you are right, the French take it to the streets. Imagine these oil protestors in France, they'd be beaten within an inch of their lives and that's before the police wade in to pick any stragglers off.

Nanny state Britain. Full of ostrich merchants as Nigel Pearson called them. I can only see it getting worse politically and in workplaces etc. My generation and the younger ones are gutless. Can't do this, can't do that. Thank fuck I don't have kids, and when I do they won't be brought up in UK to be drip-fed all this offended nonsense by British teachers.

Bloody right mate, bloody right and make sure you stick to your guns if you have kids, get away from this place as quick as you can with them

I don't know what Strauss means if he said that.

What you say backs up what the Aussies have said - Carey had noticed Bairstow going for a walk when the ball was still with the keeper. It's still live then, and throwing immediately at the stumps would be fair with the expectation that Bairstow may wander, just as a keeper may anticipate that a batsman to a spinner may overbalance.

It was interesting to hear Eoin Morgan saying he was fine with it happening.
Morgan now gets paid by the media not the ECB . English media are the dreggs a gravy train for anyone who is only interested in himself or herself not the bigger cause .

As for Strauss, 'it wasn't the normal crowd in here today'. What, normal fucking people with a bit of fight in them unlike those from your background? The same people like Botham, Flintoff, Stokes etc. who have been the backbone of teams who've stuck it on the Aussies over the years.

The guy is a bigger 'yes' man than the FA's equivalent in Gareth Southgate. Let's face it, it was extremely sad what happened to his wife, but clear that this man has been given post-playing career opportunities off the back of that.

He’s been dropped from the squad, Ali and Potts are back in, and there is no place for Foakes.

We will never learn, Moeen Ail is not a spinner just a part-time one that give it up and then took a call to come back only to bowling with finger problems and could not bowl properly, Jimmy Anderson and Robinson's bowling speeds are not good enough, Even Broad is down to around 80mph, again not going to hurt the Aussies unless it's doing bananas in the air,

Test cricket and Ashes test cricket are two different sports, You have to win at all costs, Even getting in the faces and winding them up, you have to upset the apple cart, England has been far too nice and now they took the piss,

If it does not hurt enough losing today then pack up and give them the whitewash, FUCK ME even a couple of the MCC members shown some balls to face up to the Aussie in the long room and call them out,

A bit stupid from Bairstow, seriously just keep your bat in the crease for a couple of seconds, and look behind you before going for a wander. That doesn't excuse the aussies though for running a bloke out who wasn't looking for a run or didn't over balance and stumble out of his crease. They are without doubt the worst cricket team when it comes to pushing the boundaries of what is acceptable on a cricket field, they will attempt to cheat time after time and show no shame after.

It’s not football though is it? We all know footballers are cheating, diving pricks. Cricket is meant to be a bit different. Like rugby. Looks like it’s just the egg chasers left with any dignity left
Yeah sure…

Both umpires had given up on the over aswell one about to pass sunglasses a hat and a jumper the other walking head down from square leg . An absolute shit show from the Aussies MANIPULATING the rules to suit themselves when England were getting on top .

Morgan is shite commentator as is Strauss and only ever comes on when begging for money and then takes the piss out of the people who donated to a very good cause..
