One would have to say a Very Good day for England, though there will be that nagging feeling that it could have been Excellent. Tail was certainly docked. Have a feeling this one won't be going to Day 5, maybe not even Day 4...

Has there ever been a 95mph bowler who could stay fit?

Bret Lee was always injured, Shoaib Akhtar had plenty of injuries and can't even walk now, Sean Tait got upto 100 mph and retired in his early 20s.

Mohammed Shami was always injured, Mitchell Johnson missed big spells.

Joffra Archer...

The human body isn't supposed to bowl at 95mph+, the forces through their ankles, knees and backs just ruins them.
I dont recall Patrick Patterson having too many injuries, I'll never forget facing him for a few balls in the nets

It did for me…

It's a mad game this isn't it! From absolute elation to start with, to despair at the dropped catches and subsequent counter by Marsh...to frustration and grief as the game seemed to escape...and in the end we skittle them and it's a score you'd have been happy with bowling first at the start of the day! It's unbelievable how quickly things can change. Wood has been superb, as has Woakes. They've really made a difference and if they can stay fit there's no reason they can't help us win these Ashes. Dropped catches cost us a lot of runs but brilliant bowling overall.

100% this, bowling at 40mph used to leave me crippled for days. Can you imagine the bone jangling at play bowling at 90mph+ for 12 overs a day. Makes me wince.
