The 'soft dismissal' signal is only given when the umpire needs to see a review and they can only do that for run outs and catches. They shouldn't have checked for the nick although in this case it would have been England that reviewed so nothing was lost in the end.But he has to go with his gut , that's why we have the review system right ?

Yes, in the old days they would signal the no ball straightaway so am assuming the fact the video ref is now looking for them makes no difference.They will show no balls but not leg byes
