Whilst I appreciate that people have paid for tickets and made the trip, it does all feel a bit pointless being out there.

No worries, I am thinking of that daft first test declaration that cost England the first game, this seemed the polar opposite. Like you said there was no perfect scenario but I firmly believe batting to 600 when the forecast was so dire for the weekend was dumb.
