Been lucky to see so much play today but I think we're going to end up batting again here. I fear we're going to need a full session tomorrow.
Don’t agree with that at all. Bairstow got the runs really quickly so took minimal time out of the game, without it we would actually be in arrears by now, and doing it put their chins to the follow and we took 4 wickets
No problem. It's all about opinions. I still think that we could have prised out another couple with the extra time we'd have been bowling at them. Yes, we would not have had as big a lead. But we possibly could have got them out cheaper than is looking likely at the moment. And as we need the win (a draw is useless), maybe it would have been worth the gamble.
It's a great plan no doubt about it But will we not need to bat again? I hope not, given the time restraints.I think there's two things. Stokes wanted to grind the Aussies faces into the ground. The way they themselves like to do. He wanted them to think they had no chance, so that they would come out with their heads still down. That can be defended.
Secondly, I think he wanted to give his team a single, clear objective. Bowl and field the Aussies out. We don't bat again. Again, I can see the logic.
Is that you Johnny ?Live I thought I heard bat first
