Unfortunately this is Baz-ball, got off to a relative flyer, rode our luck, then punished, not fully I may add (it could be so much worse) Crawley & Duckett where going along nicely, on came Cummings, and instead of an adjustment period (to a world class bowler) they wafted at him & got out, thus opening the door, we are really bad at giving away wickets in batches, it’s a terrible habit, dunno what’s going on with Joe Root, but he looks like he’s struggling to maintain the pace of his team mates batting, when he should just play his natural game & hold things together, hopefully we get to lunch without losing another

Scotland v Denmark live on bbc, T20 WC qualifier. Camera work more amateurish than the play

Think we will get 350/400
I agree mate, although conditions still look bowler friendly, afternoon sessions haven’t seen many wickets & contained plenty of runs this series (don’t have any stats) if we can get to tea only losing a max of 2 wickets we’ll be handily placed to give it a wallop

I always take it back to Root's time in charge. When these players were watchful they would soak up more deliveries but without scoring very many at all. At least we're scoring. 3 wickets down in the first session usually means the bowling team made the right decision, but the amount of runs we've scored means we're in an okay position.

I'd like to see Root stick to his style, but to be fair he was playing a shot he usually plays just to rotate the strike. He can get up to 20-30 in no time just by dropping the ball into space and running 1s and 2s. He wasn't looking to do anything else.

I think in general, much like the shorter format team under Morgan, we'd generally like to chase because we back ourselves to outscore the opposition when we know what we need to get. Setting a target brings a bit more jeopardy.

Yeah, it’s one of his stock scoring shots & not one you put away when out of nick, agree on the chasing, which is another reason the Aussies put us in, spin could eventually play a part in this test & they bat last, bet their young spinner was hoping to bat first
