Here's a stat for you. 11 wins in 13.

Tells me that Stokes and McCullum are a better judge of mentality and technique than you I or anybody else on this thread.

For clarity I'm not bigging up Crawley here I just don't see an alternative. Events are still unfolding but right now I'd rather have Bairstow to come in at 7 than be a sacrificial lamb in those conditions

So of those 11 wins, to the nearest one how many were due to Crawley? Give me that stat

In fairness, he's gotten us off to a flier a few times where we've been 50/0 after about 8 overs and put opposition captains into a blind panic. But Jonny could do the same no question and we desperately need Foakes wearing the gloves.

The only benefit with the opening pair is one is tall one is short one is left handed one is right handed! That in itself is a plus! Crawley though he should take a look at root and smiths batting, how they look to play the swinging ball. Crawley is all over the place! Yep can’t see any change any time soon either

Given that it's a team game immeasurable. Give me some serious alternatives. Nothing is broken yet and given the state of the game I like the look of Bairstow at 7 to set up a total.

I'd hope so too - if they're down Moeen, and Stokes isn't good for many, they'll need all the overs they can get for Root to win the match (!).
