Cricket Thread

This is on BBC hahahahah

The world champions can still qualify for the semi-finals but will likely have to win all five of their remaining group matches to guarantee doing so.

So in other words forget it
Especially with a captain who wins the toss then opts for the wrong decision on batting/fielding first. Get a new captain is the place to start.

Dearer me Buttler

Said it yesterday it was a brain-dead decision to field first. It was 36c when the game started but the humidity meant it felt like 40c.

I've been to Mumbai and the humidity is absolutely oppressive. I remember walking around the City and within an hour I was fucked and I looked like a walking sponge!!

God knows how the players felt standing in a field for nearly 4 hours. If you're not used to that weather it will sap you

It looked like England were pulling it back before I left for the footy, was hoping for a 340 chase and England were 11/10. Went a bit sideways then.

NZ steadying the ship, but not looking great after 10 overs.

Lord only knows what our ODI side will look like next summer.
Hopefully a bit better, and frankly more intelligent. Watching NZ now I love the way the more intelligent teams can lose early wickets and have a slow run rate but sensibly rebuild. We just seem to bat in and on in the same carefree manner and don’t take care of our wickets. Time for a change in philosophy in my view

Even England wouldn’t be 11 for 10!!

What stands out is what research did they do as in conditions?! So unprofessional!

I don't think winning the toss and bowling first had anything to do with England being shit, We must have known the conditions in India and trained with a player's boot camp long before the tournament started, ohh that's right we are England, We are the holders and the best team in the world, We don't need any prep for any sort of conditions in India we are the best ODI team,

4 years is a long time in cricket and living on the back of a home World Cup win by the number of boundaries we hit vs NZ in the final,

I truly believe we had no intention of winning this World Cup and just turned up to make the numbers up.
It must be so good to have no pressure to do well and treat it like a holiday
