Because the bowler and fielders are not at fault
The bowler isn't at fault for a leg bye? I'd disagree. In a majority of cases, a leg bye will have come from a bowler straying onto or outside leg stump. If it's because the bowler has asked for a leg side field, that's another argument. But even then, it's the bowler's decision. Attacking the leg stump is always fraught with risk. the slightest nick, either off the bat or the pad, is likely to race away for four, unless you deploy a very fine long leg. Which, of course, leaves you a fielder light in other arguably more important positions.

Yep, no depth in team, last 5 batsmen pretty poor unlike the convicts

It's a Stokes team. Root's a good player but lacks the mental fortitude and stones to get to the very top. He's a serial loser when the going gets tough.

Maximum respect to Anderson and Broad, but no winning Ashes team should have 2 seamers aged 37 and 41. It's scary how poor this team would be without the rudder of Stokes.

Or the batsman wasn't good enough to put a bat on the ball ( the ball was too good you can't qualify what actually happened to accrue the leg byes ,

Was anyone rather baffled by the oz bowlers not just bowling at the stumps with the last batting, very strange stuff.

They were trying to break people down. Cuntish thing to do but that's Ashes cricket mate. Ollie Robinson needs to back up the talk now and return fire. That's what winners do.

Leg byes are very rare on the offside it is like Jim says the bowlers stray to leg stump or outside . It would have to be a hell of a delivery to pitch on or outside off stump and hit the pad outside leg stump

See City, ruthless, and relentless.

With the best game-managing coach in the world. FFS this guy even changed how we take throw ins. Which top side have ever held the ball in the corner from winning positions as often as City do. Our lads are also encouraged to go down when injured, unlike under previous management. Those fine decisions win games, across all sports.

I'm fully aware lol , but the same balls may be also be hit with a bat and are therfore runs rather than leg byes , I was always taught that when comparing the quality of the two bowling sides witb regards to extras to use byes no balls and wides for the reasons I've mentioned

Aussie did their absolute best to lose there. Shat the bed again when Stokes turned it up, the typical game raising c**t, and the strategy against the tail was pathetic to say the least.

At the end of the day the better team won. England have probably punched above their weight given the mismatch in talent between the two sides, so I don't think 'Bazball' can be blamed.
