Cricket Thread

I know they frustrate us at times but that was a great effort at the end. Been a bit unlucky to find ourselves 2-0 down after the first two. That’s a fairer reflection now. Roll on the real Old Trafford a week on Wednesday, and I’m hoping we’re still in it by the Friday when I go!

I don’t think there’s that much between us and them. All the tests have been close… if we hadn’t made so many errors we could have easily been ahead in the series.

Bring on OT.

Good God. I haven't seen a game of cricket in 40 years or so. What the hell has happened to it? It's all 5 or 6 runs an over. And the way to score 30 runs in more than a whole day? 4s and 6s? It's changed a little .....

Never been so please to be wrong, but let's be honest. The Australian attack have not, on the whole, been bowling unplayable balls right through the series. It is us shooting ourselves in the foot, over and over and over. Right down to Brook (congrats, Harry, because let's not be churlish, after all).
We've simply got to get a grip in the next two tests. Oh and goodbye Bairstow, I hope. Has played some wonderful knocks in the past, but it seems a long time ago.

You are Geoffrey Boycott and I claim my £10

No it's not an illusion, but the likes of Woakes and Wood are not blame if they give their wickets away trying to score. Anyway they didn't so well played.
Having better batters in the tail than the first two tests has won us the game. Put Wood and Woakes in the earlier line ups and we win at one of the first two tests. I know Wood wasn’t available at the start of the series.
