Sorry,it didn’t quote back correctly so I deleted it

So you’d fancy our chances against any team, that’s not really saying yea we’d beat them though is it,come on now.

Every sports team in the world would fancy their chances in a game, but that’s not what I was asking was it.

The point was made to me by you and another that Australia are ranked one in the world,so I’ve asked about this current squad how they’d fare against the other shall we say mighty cricket boys,India and South Africa, and the response you’ve given me is you’d fancy our chances, and a report on Root suffering bad form from a 2020 story when he was captain.

The point about Root could be applied to umpteen former England captains by the way

We’ve got over the line today, and as I did say earlier I hoped we did,but this current squad is not filling with much confidence with bat or ball

But if you’d fancy our chances against those I’ve mentioned then fair enough that’ll do me,although I wouldn’t be as confident as you,but that’s sport, opinions, debates, and forums

So basically not much of what I wrote which prompted the response from you of me lying doesn’t really make sense at all

Told you we’d have knocked off 400 no bother. Wood and Woakes were set and would never have lost a wicket….
Ha ha I was hoping to re engage this but i didn't want to come across wrong , you can see why I was intrigued now . Even when the target was set in posted that I felt it would be close.
That being said what you said about historical chases I understood completely, just personally I hadn't seen any evidence in this test that it would be the case , I was nervous enough having to chase 250

In hindsight, I should just have said it was a turn of phrase , maybe you took that more personally than it was ment ( I have history for this)
I added the Root bit because in a separate post you asked if Root has ever looked as bad ( words to that effect )
Would I say we would beat them , im not sure I would say we would beat anyone , have a good chance is as far as I would go . That's the thing about bazball it can go wrong at anytime. So in as much as its made us far more competitive than we were prior ( I think even anti bazball people have to accept that ) it can go tragically wrong . They need to find a ballance and if they were able todo that then yes I probably would say we will Win alot more than I would currently.
The comment that triggered you however was aimed at saying if we don't win this then we may as well forget playing against major test nations and stick to Afghanistan and Scotland etc, come on bro lol

Both sides have some interesting decisions to make for the next test.

Australia could drop Warner for Renshaw or Harris or move Head up to open to accommodate both Green and Marsh. I’d imagine Hazelwood or Neser would come in for Boland too.

I think Ali is past it but suspect he’ll retain his place after removing Labuschagne and Smith in their second innings. I’d like to see Foakes in the side but can’t see it happening now. Question marks still remain over who should bat at number 3 in Pope’s absence and whether Jimmy should play at his home ground.

I cant see them dropping Warner , but definitely bring in Hazlewood
Only change I see us making as much as I also would want Foakes inclusion is Jimmy or Tongue for Robinson , personally I'd go for Toungue as much as I love Jimmy there is no room for sentiment and even Mo has been more effective this series

If England are prepared to resist such change on the back of two defeats, it’s difficult to imagine them including Foakes after a victory. Another round of County matches begin tomorrow and another a week on Wednesday when the next Test commences, and I suspect he’ll play for Surrey. If England fail to win at Old Trafford, he might be recalled into the fold at the Oval, as England then will be beginning their ’rebuild’.

i wonder what pep would make of managing the england cricket team, for a start i think he would be shocked at how bad our bowlers are with a bat in their hand and would drill into the fuckers to make an effort like he does with fooballers getting them to play in different positions.
watching some of em bat you'd think they never pick a bat up! he said he'd like to play a team of midfielders, i reckon he'd play a team of all rounders
