I dunno. For me it's better to chase a small total with intent at the beginning and then leave an easy 3 runs an over required for the lower order.

As opposed to just wasting the top order plodding along almost waiting for a good ball to get them out but without getting many runs and leaving a harder run rate for the lower order to maintain at the back end.
