It was actually positive to see him change his approach. He's been out a few times in the 80s/90s in tests and ODI's recently so clearly respecting the fact that there is inevitably a bit more pressure when a century is looming and to adapt his approach a bit to get over the line.

Hopefully he relaxes again and pushes the scoring. That will allow Root to just rotate the strike nicely and keep building the score.
 
Unlucky for Root there, big deflection off his boot onto the stumps. We don't want to be chasing too many batting last on this pitch. Great test match at least, much more in it than last week!

I'm interested to see how Brook approaches things. There was a maturity to his innings last week, which he needs to show again. He didn't go chasing boundaries just to score quickly, he took the 1s and 2s on offer which was nice to see.
 
England never going to stop going for there shots but still a fair bit away from Pakistan and on a pitch like this we need to get out main runs first innings
 
We not going to get any lead now we probably be 100 behind then we be looking at a massive score to get last innings on this pitch ain't happening!

1-1 in my mind now
