We’ve been shit in the County Championship before, I remember being at the real OT in (I think 1983) when we beat Somerset and it was something like our first win for a year and a half. I got Joel Garner and Vic Richard’s autographs on the car park afterwards. At least back then, we were decent in the one day game. This Lancs side the last couple of years has been a shitshow all ‘round.

Snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. Significant changes needed on the management and coaching side - just not good enough.

How on earth did we let Northants get 273 after the start yesterday?!
Been out all day and just catching up.
Suppose I shouldn’t be surprised, but still …

We make second rate teams look good…. Been doing that for a while now. The team seems to lack any sort of confidence or leadership.

Minor counties would suit this team.
Yes, I’d quite enjoy the odd Cheshire Lancs match actually.

But in all seriousness it is getting beyond a joke. I don’t normally bother with the members forums etc, but I would like to hear what the club intend doing to change this situation.

There’s probably not enough money in 4 day cricket for counties to care.

We tend to do pretty well in the 20/20. The size of OT boundaries holds us back a bit though.

Tend to get to the knockouts.

The 40 over cup was enjoyable in the last couple of seasons as you get to see the younger players have a go.
The Metro 50 over competition?
I’ve enjoyed going to the likes of Sedbergh and Blackpool to watch that competition instead of going to the Hundred each August if I’m honest pal.

The other thing I meant to say was, the club may not care about 4 day for financial reasons, but I know a lot of their members don’t feel that way! (Based on what I’ve picked up anyway).

Sorry, did mean the 50 over comp.

I agree about the 4 day game. It creates more rounded cricketers who will excel in all formats as a result, rather than being home run Derby exhibitionists.

Sadly, most counties follow the money.

The powers that be want a successful test team, test players come from county cricket.
