Woke up, checked the score, 115-5 …
From what I can tell: Starc bowled beautifully, Root got a good one, Crawley played a typically daft shot in the first over. Pope and Stokes got out at shit times either side of lunch.
For all the talk about everything resting on Stokes as key man, his batting is a bit turd. Can‘t be averaging more than mid-20s over the past 12-18 months. Which is wank for a No. 6.
Looks like Brook and Smith making a decent fist of things (he types, as the notification comes through that Brook is out …).
Sub-200 score incoming. Poor under any circumstances, chronic after choosing to bat first.
