Just seen it now and that was a shocking decsion. Absolutely plum as you say and he shit out of giving it.
 
People were saying that this might have been our best chance of winning a test, with Cummins not playing. What odds we'll be over 100 behind on first innings? It's going to be a long winter.

Yep. I don't care how much of a minefield that any given pitch is, 172 is a poor test score. You'd expect one of your top order to get a ton, then two or three more to chip in with 40+ scores, and the rest of the team to contribute 50 or 60 runs. 250, minimum should be what you're looking at.
 
bit of juggling and the only thing bbc do well not as good as used to be but still commentary matched to aussie tv pictures
