Crimbo toys of old. Favourites or heartbreakers !

Worst Christmas ever (well from a kid´s perspective at least) was when I was around 7 or 8 years old.

I usually wrote my parents a huuuuuge wish list and in 99% of the cases my parents picked some of the presents from this list. Well this one Christmas I wrote my list, handed it over to my parents and quickly forgot about it again.

Then a couple of days before Christmas my mother asked me to get her something out of a drawer and when I opened it I found my wish list at the bottom of the drawer.
Now I made the stupid mistake to have a look at the list, just to see that my parents ticked off the presents they got for me.

I basically knew from the size of the gift boxes what was in there and what I would get. It was horrible as the whole surprise effect was gone....

Way to ruin your own Christmas experience.

Christmas started to turn shit anyway once you received 99% clothes and other "useless" stuff.

These days the highlight is getting together with the family and eat/drink yourself silly. :(

The best one i got was an Amstrad cpc464 with a green monitor, spent hours playing Chucky Egg and Football Director.

I used to see how far i could make it fly by hurling it down the garden, which didn't do it much good really.

If i still had it now, and if it was in good nick, it would be worth a fortune...

When I was about 6 after opening all our prezzies my dad said of in the kitchen and get some bing bags so I legged it in and came back with them not turning the light on in the kitchen, when I got back my mum and dad said "well?" I didn't have a clue what they were on about. They took me back in the kitchen and turned the light on, I'd run past a huge model railway set which must have took my dad all bloody night to set up, I don't know who played with it more that day me or him, happy days.
On another note I'm 44 and my daughter is 15 months this Xmas, I bloody love Xmas and I'm so looking forward to the ones to come with her its like been a kid again :)

I was about 8 or 9 and id opened my presents and got some decent stuff but nothing id really asked for. My mum and dad kept hinting at something else and realised id missed a huge box behind the sofa. Was a 6x3 snooker table and the best present i ever got. I spent the next few years re enacting the Taylor v Davies final.

Other top presents over the years were TCR, Crossfire, Tank Command, Dragon 32 and a dart board.
