Cristiano Ronaldo - not City

Both Balague and Hunter, who have sources inside Real Madrid. Say Ronaldo and Real Madrid will be parting ways in the summer as it is the perfect time. They suggest PSG is the place he will go and it is all virtually almost agreed as Zlatan is leaving and PSG need a new marquee name to take them from Champion's League contenders to Champions League winners.

Now, why are City not involved in these rumours? we have the money, infrastructure.. we are richer than PSG and play in the best league in the World, the EPL (which would appeal to the player's enormous ego and brand to have that exposure). I mean the French league won't stroke his ego.. nobody watches it and it isn't on Sky for example.. BT have a few highlights but nothing special.. so if he joins PSG he can kiss goodbye to ever winning the Ballon d'Or as it is a 1 team league the French league - same for the MLS and Germany.

Also he is a Nike athlete and we are now a Nike sponsored club.
 
We have broken our transfer record twice and don't need to go down the marquee signing route imo.
 
This is what Ronaldo said last week in an interview whilst promoting his film:

When asked about potentially moving to City he said: “You think the money is going to change my mind now, at 30 years old?

“I don’t think so. I think this is not going to be the problem.

“If you speak about the money I will go to Qatar. Maybe they probably have more money than Manchester City.

“But it’s not about the money, it’s about the passion.”

It will never happen as he has had United playing a huge part in his career.
 
No hope and that's a good thing.

Although, we could have used his penchant for tap ins today.
 
Even if Guardiola ends up at City we don't need to go down that route with either Messi or Ronaldo.

Messi is also a Nike athlete, played already under Pep and Txixi.... It's written in the stars.

Are we big enough for Messi?
No, but if he wants to join a project which aims to establish itself at the top of elite football then he can be a big part in that.
Plus he can help out his mates Aguero, Zabs, Nic, Martin, Willy in getting the chumps league.

Where else can he go? He's to young to go back to Argentina yet, just feel the time is right for a switch of clubs.

I don't want Ronaldo at city.
Gareth Bale however....
 
I wouldn't even have Gareth Bale. Messi would be great, however we have own two projects in De Bruyne and Sterling along with Aguero and SIlva.
 
If you can get a player as good as Bale you grab him with both hands and worry about where to play him later. Home grown is an added bonus.
 
If Ronaldo had any genuine affection for Utd he would not use them as a tool to get the focus on him/new contract etc. He has done this more than once and it worked for him so fair play.
He may have fond memories as a youth with baconface and Scholes around him and such but that utd is long long gone.

That said, i would never want the preening pouting prick anywhere near City unless it is to play against us, no time for him at all.

Agreed GDM, his game relies on basically sprinting in the hope an oppo player gets within 3 meters so he can dive or running in to tap in a nice cross.
Messi could be in a wheelchair and his game can be maintained, i think he will drop back and work similar to Iniesta, mind you he does that now if needs be.

Ronaldo depends on pace, Messi depends on skill and age will not erode that as quick.
 
C.Ronaldo needs Benzema to shine, Benzema does all the un-noticed donkey work and running for him so he gets all the goals/credit/space.. (a bit like Rooney did at the RAGs) not many strikers would be that selfless as Karim Benzema is.. to put their own aspirations/goals aside.

Maybe when Benzema comes back into the Real Madrid team he will get a little more respect for the work he does, not only on the ball but off it. As C.Ronaldo has struggled in his absence to get as many chances to get his tap-ins and penalties to boast his own padded personal goal record..

When you take like 9/10 shots or good chances per every match like C.Ronaldo does, you are bound to get 1 or 2 goals.

City should be on it like a car bonnet !! especially with Guardiola's imminent arrival, he can attract the top players to this club.

I think his love for the RAG's is overblown.. he basically used them for years to get a new contract with Real Madrid... he's just another football mercenary who is playing both sides to get the best for HIM.

IF Real Madrid booted him out do you think he'd not jump at the chance to come to City!?

Pep and him don't like each other,pep even blanked him at an awards do when rony went over to shake his hand also we don't need his ego at our place,squad harmony and all that
