Croatia (Dubrovnik)

Thanks for all the advice chaps. Holiday in Croatia ( Dubrovnik) was absolutely magic.
Weather fabulous ( but it's been such a dry summer they have been struggling to keep fires in remote hills in check). Walking old City Walls is a must, as is hanging out on the Strada checking out all the posers. Chair lift to top of hill above City and bay well worth the money,as was the Three Islands Cruise. Everything was reasonably priced even in the touristy areas.most Hotels just include breakfast in the package and not many places you can eat out take credit cards but there are plenty of cash dispensers. Flight less than 2 and a half hours from Brum and airport about half an hour from Dubrovnik. Climate compares to South of Tenerife, but without all the dodgy guys pestering you to buy cheap sun glasses PRs trying to get you to buy a meal in a dodgy bar,and weird people pretending to be statues. The war in the19990's obviously still casts some shadows, and you can tell some of the bar men/waiters have seen things in the past which puts some of the petty problems tourists come up with into perspective, so they are never phased. Chorluka is a hero, and much to my surprise Dzeko had been there a couple of weeks ago doing a Charity thing with some youngsters. You have to check out "the Cave" bar on the footpath round the bay at Lepad.
Pre book taxi from airport with pepoklaic@yahoo.com. Enjoy!
