Mrs want to go to Dubrovnik for our holidays next year...

Has anybody been and can you recommend any nice hotels that dont overlook a carpark..

I went Croatia (Former Yogoslavia at the time) when I was a kid just before the war broke out. We stayed in a place called Umag, it was a decent place and I have heard its thriving again. We also went on a day trip to Porec, which would be worth you looking at.

Just got back from the most marvellous holiday in Dubrovnik mate. See my earlier thread on which I am about to post feedback. Stayed at Hotel Vis which is ideally placed, has it's own private beach, but make sure you book a room with a sea view as car park is not what you want to see from your balcony. (TBF most of the hotels are built into the hill side so nearly all rooms have a sea view)

the missus fancies a place in Cavtat called Croatia Hotel, looks very nice and is reasonable value for money....


we havent been before so we have only a small amount of knowledge of the place..

No problem YYRF.
Just had a look at your hotel on Booking dot com and it looks very nice.
It is near the air port and a fair stride to the City of Dubrovnik, and I guess "secluded" means no nearby nightlife beyond the hotel grounds, but anywhere round there has marvellous scenery and taxis are quite cheap if you want to venture out.
