Crystal Palace (A) I PL I Post Match Thread

Can I just say, after that game, I want Guehi and Wharton. Thought they were both excellent (except Wharton's shooting).
warton, would like to him score a couple of goals before we cough up the 65 million they will demand for him
guehi, yes please but i think he struggles to get in the 1st eleven over gvardiol and dias

I see Pep after the game was on about how much we are going to improve. He seems very bullish. I didn’t put it in the master class rank but the effort and commitment were outstanding especially in the second half. A poster the other day questioned our mentality…I couldn’t believe that. Maybe we have some technical shortfalls but I think the spirit is great. Onwards and upwards we go.
Yes probably not a masterclass but I thought we defended well and we haven't said that much this season. I think our forward line can destroy anyone so getting the defence right is crucial. I am very optimistic about this team which is rapidly improving. Nico O'reilly and Nunez have been superb for starters. I am shocked I am saying that as I had almost given up on Nunez.

he was targeted and on his own just where was the rest of midfielders
I thought that plus the kids gassed needs midweek off IMHO and some help in Jan because none of us know when Rodders and Kova are coming back.
We have got ourselves into a good position would be a shame to see this challenge fall flat.
Lets go City !

I agree. 3-0 isn’t a smash and grab. Brilliant today but you’ll always find some people who want to focus on the negatives. Some of that football with Cherki and Foden was fantastic and they couldn’t cope. Joy to watch and 1-0 v the negatives tonight.
Cherki is one of those special players who seems to have time on the ball because he thinks faster than other players. It seems to good to be true but he looks like he will become a world class player with Pep's help. Imagine a fit Rodri with Cherki and Foden rotating at 8 and 10 like KDB and David Silva used to do. For all his crazy antics Pep is a total genius. No one can improve players like him.

A good end to a highly productive week with a tricky set of away fixtures. I got to be honest I didn't expect us to win both fixtures. Especially Real Madrid away. Defensively Palace made it as awkward as possible but Haaland put away his first major chance of the game and that made our task a lot easier and smoother to get the win.

It should be compulsory.
After 25 fucking years or however long the PL has been around then it should be for those that have been in it that long!

Corruption in plain sight.

Controversial decision, what you talking about no one has seen it!

Great result. When they broke through our midfield, they ran into the blue wall that's Ruben and Josko. Josko's best performance for 18 months imho.

My jury is still out on Tjanni. Maybe he will settle.
I think Rjnders is getting better. I am confident he will settle down. That was Josko's best game since he scored that screamer in the 3-3 draw at the Bernabeau.

3-0 isn't a full reflection of the game. Palace have been wasteful recently. But it is a massive 3 points for City.

If a midfielder could be brought in during the January window, it might be enough to see City pip Arsenal.

Pep has settled on a back four and is now getting a good amount of output out of Doku, Cherki, Foden and Haaland. A lot is being asked of Nico González in midfield. He wasn't poor today, but did get caught out in the buildup to Wharton cracking the post. It's probably the one area that needs a lick of paint.

We quite simply had greater quality across the park.

Hard away fixture, they are always up for it against City with their fans bouncing after the FA Cup Win
Haaland really is a joke. He can go missing for 30 minutes, then the next thing he's scoring from his first chance

For me, we are looking more like a team and unit that does the hard yards and the ugly things well, This City and Pep rebuild have a bit of steel in them and likes the fight. The lovely stuff and passing it about looking good on the eye is being put away, we will face you up and leave a bit on you and win ugly

Still a long way to go and we are still making silly mistakes at times, but boy we play as a unit and together we are hard to beat
