Agreed. It can work against you anyway, imagine a team's #1 keeper gets sent off and they play Arsenal next match...The ref couldn't see what VAR should have seen. No attempt to play the ball, only an attempt to trip Sav. 100% a red card under the LOTG. Not that it matters I guess
agreed, so much better, also we looked up for the physical battle. This made a big difference as when the got through the lines we needed that desire to win the ball... and most of the time they didn't get through (particularly after first 35 mins) as we harried with conviction, made them play balls they didn't want to. For a change we affected the game from the front.. tinges of days of old... it generally takes Pep's new players about 4 / 5 months to not only understand the task but also develop the strength and fitness to match the conviction required to affect the opposition...well done Pep.. he seems to have the desire to keep changing the mentally (for the better) of most of his signings over last 10 + years..no mean feat thatWell deserved 3 points. Not at our absolute best, hardly surprising after a tough away game in Madrid, but still a deserved win.
Defence were great. Foden and Cherki also excellent and also Haaland with his 2 goals.
A lot to like about that performance.
your'e taking a chance there Ric ;-)Wasn't a vintage performance by any means,
VAR will no doubt gone with the 'on field referee's decision' excuse. The ref couldn't see what VAR should have seen. No attempt to play the ball, only an attempt to trip Sav. 100% a red card under the LOTG. Not that it matters I guess
Hear, hear!It doesn't matter whether we can see it or not (hint: we can). IT'S NOT THE POINT! We're not picking the team or deciding who we sign in the transfer market, what are you hoping to achieve, get a bunch of like-minded idiots together and pop round and have a word with Pep?
We won, we're doing well and we just want to enjoy the win, not listen to you nobheads moaning all the time at anything you can find to moan at twice a week.
Go and have a lie down grandpa- it’s getting seriously boring pal.what are you talking about, read that back to yourself ffs, would you not like kovacic and rodri back to bolster the midfield
I'm not biting. I'm just going to assume that's a windup. Madrid started well but over the 90 we deserved the win, they were pretty ineffective overall. Today we were worthy winners and never looked in any real trouble, you don't win 3-0 by luck. The whole point of putting a top team together is to be able to outscore the opposition and we're doing that.Same as Madrid really, the second best team but we got away with it. I think we have scored 5 goals from 6 chances over the two games, of which 2 were penalties and one from a corner.
We aren't going to carry on getting away with performances like this. Rodri is needed back desperately.
Commentators and pundits constantly have free pot shots at City, often with unsubstantiated claims.. we are such an easy target as we realistically have a large but localised fan base..getting bigger globally but dwarfed by others.. For the likes of Sky they can take advantage and nail us without harming international subs and revenue streams, dippers, Rags and Tarquins well they have to tow the corporate line and back them...sickening really as I have to turn the sound off completely if watching on TVThat was fucking pathetic from the commentators. We committed 6 fouls in the whole game and they think they are being smart inferring we foul / cheat our way to wins.
looks like someone else noticedSame as Madrid really, the second best team but we got away with it. I think we have scored 5 goals from 6 chances over the two games, of which 2 were penalties and one from a corner.

He went on to say we won comfortably. Think it’s time for your coco pal.your'e taking a chance there Ric ;-)
For once he actually did ok when he came on, but I still wouldn’t trust him to take a throw in never mind a penAm only surprised Savinho didn't mither Haaland to take that penalty ....
I'll hold judgement until I see Anderson when we are at Forest on Boxing Day.I have never seen anything from Wharton to convince me he has it to become a City player. He has many qualities but nothing to mark him as an elite player. I'd be surprised if we went in for him.
Totally agree. Guehi's not bad but I can't see him replacing anything we've already got, but I've never understood the fuss over Wharton.I have never seen anything from Wharton to convince me he has it to become a City player. He has many qualities but nothing to mark him as an elite player. I'd be surprised if we went in for him.
Yes we would mate. Without them we are still second in the League behind the perennial bottle jobs just beaten RM away in the CL and in the QF of League cup.what are you talking about, read that back to yourself ffs, would you not like kovacic and rodri back to bolster the midfield
Seems like you agreed with meDefensive performance saw them end up goal-less. Isn't that the point? They did enough, and that's all that's needed. They never seriously looked like scoring if you dismiss the numerous offsides (including the one that hit the bar), and playing them offside so often is part of good defending.
The only one I thought was a bit poor was Donnarumma punching out what looked like an easy catch towards the end of the match.
