Crystal Palace (A) I PL I Post Match Thread

Very strange how Sky commentators today made several references to Madrid beating us last season - but hardly a mention of our demolition of Madrid only a few days ago. It's as though we only beat the Mareeeeeed over 75s walking football side.

On what basis were we lucky not to be 3 or 4 down in the first half when they only had 4 shots on target in the entire match?

That's like saying after a match where we've had 25 shots that we were unlucky not to have scored 25 goals.
Yep, Millo's comment is weird. We had 62 per cent possession and more shots on target than Palace. If he thinks that equates to 'should have been three or four down' then maybe he's hallucinating.

Cherki is one of those special players who seems to have time on the ball because he thinks faster than other players. It seems to good to be true but he looks like he will become a world class player with Pep's help. Imagine a fit Rodri with Cherki and Foden rotating at 8 and 10 like KDB and David Silva used to do. For all his crazy antics Pep is a total genius. No one can improve players like him.
Every time I see Cherki, the word magician comes to mind.

Watched the highlights again. As usual enjoyed seeing close-ups of the crowd with the opposition fans throwing their hands up in dismay or mouthing "oh, f***" when City score.
Some good shots of City's supporters celebrating, too. Think it'd be a grand idea for the MCFC website to bring back the feature the M.E.N/Football Pink used to have where they'd put a circle round the face of a few people in the crowd before a match and offer a prize if you were one of the ugly buggers that got picked. Would have to do better than the old one guinea though.

Just watched the penalty - Henderson trying to claim a dive is a joke. The video clip clearly shows his hand holding Savinho's foot. In the pre-match I wanted us to put a few past the cheat - and we did. Super result.
I think his protests might have been an attempt to avoid a red card, he must have known VAR wouldn’t overturn the penalty decision.

Been a great week to be a blue. Team has still room for improvement, but they’re on fire. Palace away has always been a tough fixture, and this Palace team are their best for years. Cherki is the creator we’ve been missing, and great to see him developing a partnership with the reborn Foden.
