Crystal Palace (A) | Post Match Thread

Poor tonight and I can’t for the life of me understand why they were no changes after 60, 70 minutes. It was there for the taking but the lack of changes reduced our chances to win it.

Bernado was having a piss poor game, looked knackered and missed two sitters, yet he stays on the pitch with Gundogan and Sterling sat there. The tactics were either give it to Cancelo - who was also poor - or knock it outside to Mahrez, and it didn’t change all night. Grealish did well when coming inside but he keeps him stuck out wide.

Stubbornness for the sake of it will win us fuck all.

At least the lads didn’t lose at the end there. On to the next one. Best for me not to remember that game. Wake up tomorrow and start my new week.

I think that is why I’m a little easier with the result and the confidence the dippers will take from it… it had all the hallmarks of a classic snatch and grab counter attack from about 5 mins in.

4 points clear and almost certainly lost the title..how much have you put on Liverpool?

Dont tell me I know it’s nothing.
I don't put money on anything

do you think Liverpool will score more goals than City between now and the end of the season

They have a game in hand and don't need 20 shots a goal to score a goal - we don't have enough goals in our game pure and simple and we will drop more over the last games of the season

Mahrez was terrible and looked like he couldn't be arsed. Grealish bright but felt as if Bernardo just kept getting in his way.

We lack efficiency and tempo at times. The constant slow passing backwards was infuriating.
What you don’t understand is Palace was moving the lines well and defended with their lives. We found it hard to pass through the lines. Great effort from the team tonight. Can not fault their desire to win.

Another day we win that game comfortably, sometimes days like this happen.

Ideally Arsenal will do us a favour, I don't believe for one minute that the dippers will win all their remaining games and we are still in pole position.

Pep obviously had no faith in his bench (me either for that matter except for maybe dragging Rodri for Dinho)

But to listen to them fucking red muppets in the studio pre kick off to listen to the commentator mention the dippers 20 fucking times during our game vs PALACE yes palace not the fucking smackheads from down the East lancs i'm fuming.
Really thought after NY Day last minute vs Arsenal that we have done it again, won the league without a striker,
but its coming back to bite us big time.

Its not over obviously but i bet you do not see the dippers get another yellow card for the rest of the season, its that against us.

Fucking hell im 53 and i want to twat Gary Neville to fuck ARRGGGHHHHHH

I don’t get that. Bernardo, Mahrez and Laporte not finishing chances is why we didn’t win that, not tactics. It’s not as if we didn’t create the chances.
Having players play in positions they don’t play or expectations on them when they are not strikers is down to tactics. The players tried their best but they are not instinctive strikers. Aguero bags a hatrick tonight

Disappointed not to win but it's not the end of the world or the end of our time at the top of the table.

We need to go into the Liverpool game in the position where we're still top if it's a draw. If we're top after that game then I fancy us to hang on because we're usually excellent during the run in.
And you base this on what mate? If we want to be honest with ourselves and take stock of our games since that stupid mini break, we've been hit and miss, hot and cold, but realistically the quality of our game in total has been mediocre at best. And this chilling fact is the same teams and the same tactics applied against us and Pep seems totally unable to counter it. We played as a team with a massive weight around our necks and the result shows it. The real eye opener is we've played worse in the second half, we created less and we were very conservative, almost scared how we let them countered us in the first half. Right now we are looking like a team grinding it to a halt at any harder obstacle. I am actually really depressed right now, fuck it!

When one player has a shite game in this team, it ripples through the rest of it like a dose of Covid.

Never seen a collective set of players have a poor game for us this season. Cancelo, Rodri, Foden, Bernado and Jack went missing.

Why the hell Pep didn't change it? Give them something different to think about. He is too stubborn for his own good.

That will give the scousers a huge boost tomorrow.

Frustrating as fuck that. Can hardly remember their keeper making a save and when you think of how much possession and chances in the final third we had, that’s a piss poor performance from us.
