Doku & Bernardo had their moments, without any real threat.
Haaland; hard to see him as one of the world's best strikers, just now.
KDB; oh dear.

Alas none get my vote. I thought they were all equally horseshit. Gvardiol perhaps a smidgen less horseshit.

Bernardo
Gvardiol
Dias

If we had taken a few chances and the penalty, we’d all be happy at the result, if not the performance. Sadly, we really have turned into a bunch of spoiled bitches.

It’s the MOTM thread. Pick one or don’t, but don’t take yet another opportunity to slag everyone off.

Every player tried their best against a resolute defence and we came up short. Sadly, our best chances fell to:

1) a player who has never taken a penalty for us before, let alone at Wembley, at the away end, while one goal down,

2) a kid who just got into the team, out of position at left back, yet found himself 7 yards out, but unwilling to even try to hit it with his right and waited too long to get it onto his left, and

3) a teenager who looked lively after coming on for his first minutes in a City shirt in the dying minutes of the FA Cup Final at Wembley, but lacked the guile to put it in the far corner and hit it straight at the keeper.

Would have had another great chance, but the keeper came out of his box to bat away the ball off the foot of our centre forward who had beaten the last defender…but this is apparently a new rule only available to teams who don’t have a trophy yet!

This season has been one long list of coulda, woulda, shouldas, and it’s been painful to watch at times, but I’ve no doubt players have given the best they had to offer. Sadly, it was lacking for much of the season.

Here’s hoping Tuesday and next Sunday save what is left of the season.

Clear KDB Gundogen and especially Silva are done and none of them should have been anywhere near that team today so that’s Peps doing, plus Bigging Silva up just makes Pep look a right arse
But the biggest issue we have is Haaland and to be generous to Pep was this lump forced on him did he have no say and been expected to work with him
Nice bloke Haaland but absolutely useless made a mark in a great team but can’t make his own mark when he’s needed same as Foden
So today we end up playing quite well suppress a pretty lethal attacking force again an in form team but we abjectly end up failing despite having the players within the squad but not starting or worse still not being utilised correctly once that game played itself out
Pep like in Porto you’ve just blown it

This lump has scored 30 goals this season.

Enlighten me what threat was that ?
Well the opposition clearly thought so which is why almost every time he got the ball they had 3 players go up against him. Meanwhile our static forwards stood around hoping that someone other than themselves was going to do something to get us back into the game. And I think it was Doku who had our only meaningful shot on target which the goalkeeper who should not have been on the pitch saved superbly.

So yeah, in amongst a largely crap bunch of performances, Doku.

There were so much a copy of the game last week at Southampton.
Two banks of five, doubling up on our wide players and we had no idea how to break it down.
Oh Kevin, sorry. But it is time and take few with you….but for me, the one who is responsible for this is Pep. Wrong selection, wrong tactics and predictable result.

De Bruyne would get my vote simply for the effort he put in. True he also showed why it is time for him to move on - he struggles to consistently find that magic that he had. I would still have tried to persuade him with a coaching role, perhaps with a limited playing role. But considering his position I thought the effort he put in deserved comment.

The forwards are static because he is too unpredictable.. I am sick to death watching him skin his man only to hit the first man, aimlessly kick the ball to space where there is zero players or run the ball out… three/four times a game is acceptable but every single time, every single game tells you the problem doesn’t lie with the other players:

at best he’s a last 20 mins impact sub -

rinse/repeat with Savinho

How sad is this a cup final & not one player played good enough for motm.

We have serious issues developing behind the scenes for me. How many games this season have we had this same issue. It’s not a one off
